Belaroma is now selling Specialy Coffees freshly roasted to order!
Specialty Coffees have passed through a strict selection process to be called Specialty. Sharon Jan (Shaz) and Scottie Callaghan (Scottie) source coffees from selected farms and regions, roast and cup them. All coffees are assessed double blind (sometimes others join in; you are welcome to too - send us a message email through the Contact Us form).
Who is Shaz?
Shaz is acknowledged as having good sensory ability having worked on various tasting panels, and also odour panels as a professional 'nose'. With a degree in Food Technology, Shaz has over 10 years experience in coffee and tea tasting, she is involved in the green bean buying, QA and R&D at Belaroma "She is one of the best cuppers I have ever cupped with" says Scottie.
Who is Scottie?
Scottie is Belaroma's Ambassador and Coffee Champion. Scottie's knowledge and talents in coffee are broad ranging; from roasting, to tasting, and of course, to his incredible coffee making and barista skills which have been consistently recognised by his impressive list of achievements: 2 times Australian Barista Champion (2007 and 2010); 2006 Latte Art World Champion, and 2010 3rd Place World Barista Champion. Scottie also overseas the roasting of these specialty coffees as he has an extraordinary ability to bring coffee to its full potential at every stage.
